Bre is a breast cancer care companion app created by Devin Reed. You can reach us at hello@breapp.org or visit breapp.org.
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and the name you choose to provide. This is used solely to create and manage your account and is never used for marketing without your explicit consent.
Health and tracking data: All information you enter into Bre — including your diagnosis details, medications, symptoms, care team contacts, appointments, journal entries, cycle tracking, and habit logs — is stored securely in the cloud so you can access it across devices. This data is associated with your account and protected by row-level security, meaning only you can access your own data.
AI photo scanning (optional): If you use the optional business card or medication bottle scanning features, a photo is temporarily sent to Anthropic's Claude API for text extraction only. The image is used solely to pre-fill a form and is not stored by us.
What we do not collect: We do not actively collect your precise location. As with all internet services, your approximate location may be inferred from your IP address by our infrastructure provider Supabase for security and fraud prevention purposes. We do not collect device identifiers, browsing history, or contact lists. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Anonymous usage analytics: We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics — such as which features are used and how often. This data is not linked to your name, email, or any health information. It is used solely to understand how the app is being used and to improve the experience. PostHog does not receive your health data.
Your data is used only to provide you with the Bre experience — to display your information, sync it across your devices, and generate personalized insights based on your own entries. Your health data is never used for advertising, sold to third parties, or shared with pharmaceutical companies, insurers, employers, researchers, or data brokers.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the United States. Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Row-level security ensures that your data is only accessible by you.
You may delete your Bre account and all associated data at any time. When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed: your email address, name, and all health and tracking data you have entered, including diagnosis details, medications, symptoms, journal entries, appointments, care team contacts, cycle tracking, and habit logs.
To delete your account directly in the app:
To request deletion by email: Email hello@breapp.org with the subject line "Delete My Account". We will permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.
Note: If you have an active subscription, deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. Please cancel your subscription through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) before or after deleting your account.
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all personal data and health information is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days. Anonymous, aggregated analytics data that cannot be linked to you may be retained.
We use the following services to operate Bre:
You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. Contact us at hello@breapp.org or use the Export feature within the app.

Bre is a personal health tracking tool, not a medical device. Nothing in Bre constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Always consult your qualified healthcare providers.
We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made. Continued use of Bre after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
